Dr. Doug Escue grew up in Texas, Japan, Illinois, and Hawaii, the son of an air force pilot.  He attended high school for the first three years in Lebanon, Illinois.  He graduated from Radford High School in Honolulu.  He was All-State in both basketball and baseball.  Dr. Escue attended the University of Texas, where he also played basketball.  He graduated from U.T. with a B.A. degree in 1970.  He attended Baylor Dental School in Dallas from 1970-1974.  Dr. Escue's pediatric dental residency was accomplished at the U.T. Dental Branch from 1974-1976.  He has been practicing pediatric dentistry in southeast Houston since 1976.

Dr. Escue is a member of The American Dental Association, The American Academy of Dentistry, The Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, The Texas Dental Association, The Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, The Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, The American Orthodontic Society, The American Society of Dentistry for Children, and Gnathos.

Dr. Escue married his wife, Patricia, in 1971.  They have two children, Kelley and Brad.  Kelley graduated from T.C.U. with a degree in special education.  Brad is also a graduate of T.C.U. and is currently with the Houston Fire Department.   Dr. Escue has two grandsons.  Colin was born in May 2004 and Spencer was born in May 2006Dr. Escue is an avid golfer and still enjoys competing in amateur golf tournaments.
 


 Dr. Howe

 

Dr. John Howe was born and raised in a rural farming community in northwest Ohio. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served for eight years as a hospital corpsman. He remained in the active reserves for seven years and was recalled to active duty during Desert Storm. He attended college at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He graduated Cum Laude in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. While attending college, he worked full time as a blood bank technician at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters,  where he met his beautiful wife.

Dr. Howe attended dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio Texas. After graduating in 2001, he remained in San Antonio for three years working as a general dentist with an emphasis on cosmetic and implant dentistry. He then moved to Philadelphia for his pediatric dental training. He completed his residency at Temple Episcopal Hospital in 2006.

Missing the Texas hospitality, Dr. Howe moved to Houston with plans to open his own pediatric dental practice. In the interim, he worked as an associate with three different pediatric dentists. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society.

Dr. Howe currently resides in Sienna Plantation with his wife and two cats. He is an avid fan of baseball and college football. During his time off, he enjoys music, movies and video games. He likes bicycling and weight training to keep in shape.

 


Dr. Ibarra

Dr. Bret Ibarra
Dr. Bret Ibarra is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. After two years of residency, he obtained his Pediatric Dentistry certificate from the University of Texas Health Science Center at the Houston Dental Branch. At that time, he also earned a Master of Science in Dentistry degree. During his pediatric residency, he received extensive clinical and didactic training in emergency cases, treating children with special needs, cosmetic dentistry and the use of sedations in dentistry.

Dr. Ibarra is involved in numerous dental organizations, which promote /research, education, comprehensive quality oral health and the prevention of dental diseases. Among these are the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and Greater Houston Dental Society.

Dr. Ibarra currently teaches part-time as a Faculty member in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. He also likes to give back to his community by volunteering with Special Olympics Special Smiles, Give Kids a Smile and March of Dimes.

Dr. Ibarra has participated in one marathon and one biathlon, with triathlons planned for the future. His family resides in Iowa. His father is a middle school science teacher and his mother is a nurse. His brother is currently attending the University of Iowa. Dr. Ibarra enjoys the Houston climate after too many years of cold winters in Iowa.
